Yasuhiro (Takehiro) Konishi, 10th Dan (1931-2017)  

10th Dan Shindo Jinen-Ryu Karate-Jutsu

With the death of Konishi Sensei in 1983, leadership for Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai passed to his son, Yasuhiro (Takehiro) Konishi, 10th Dan.  Born on May 25, 1931, in Tokyo, Japan, Konishi Soke graduated from Keio University in March 1955.  He changed his name from Takehiro Konishi to Yasuhiro Konishi after his father's death. Sadly, on the morning of the 9th April 2017 Takehiro Konishi Soke passed away.

Konishi Soke oversaw the operations for all Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai schools in Japan and guided the policies and philosophy of Shindo Jinen-Ryu worldwide.  Throughout the course of his career he held numerous positions of influence within the world of traditional Japanese martial arts:

•Advisor to Hokushin Itto-Ryu Genbu Kai Headquarters 

•Consultant of Tokyo Prefecture Karate-Do Federation

•Advisor to Minato District Kendo Federation

•Advisor to Okinawan Weaponry Art Preservation and Promotion Association

•Member of the Board of Directors of Tokyo Prefecture Kendo Dojo Federation

•President of Ryobu Kenyu Kai

•President of Tokyo Prefecture Minato District Karate-Do Federation

•Executive Director of the Board of Directors of Tokyo Prefecture Minato District Physical Education Department (1988 - 1993)

•Member of the Board of Directors of the Tokyo Prefecture, Minato District Physical Education Department (1975 - 1988)

•April 1984 to March 1985: Member of the Board of Directors of Minato District Kendo Federation

•Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minato District Karate-Do Federation (1970 - 1978)

Konishi Soke has also received a number of commendations for his work:

•Letter of Appreciation from the Governor of Tokyo Prefecture (20th anniversary of Tokyo Kendo Dojo Federation) (June 1, 1986)
